Fruits, Vegetables, Flowers and Misc.
Nestled along the banks of Little Deer Creek in Carroll County, our farm consists of 10 acres of garden and 12 acres of woods. Sap from the sugar maple trees throughout the woods is harvested in early spring to produce our own pure maple syrup. A heated greenhouse and some high tunnels in which crops are planted directly into the soil allow us to extend the growing season and offer early produce, the most popular being tomatoes in early June. We also raise flowers in the greenhouse, the majority of which go into hanging baskets. Out of the other 10 acres of garden comes an abundance of fresh produce from lettuce, broccoli, peas, potatoes, and strawberries in the spring to beans, tomatoes, pepper, and melons in the summer, to pumpkins and winter squash in the fall.

Specialty Popcorns, Vegetables and Maple Syrup
After reading Eliot Coleman’s book The New Organic Grower back in 2002, Barb and Nancy became enlightened to the philosophy of bio-regional farming and intrigued with starting a Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) market farm in IN. They went to Maine to tour several market farms to learn more about starting and sustaining an organic farm. They’ve always had a back yard herb and vegetable garden and learned to truly appreciate the freshness and amazing flavor of naturally grown food. What fruits and vegetables they don’t grow they purchase from local food sources whenever possible. They love to cook using the incredibly fresh and tasty organic produce (they’re applying for IN Organic Certification) that they grow. Nancy and Barb have 13 acres in SE Tippecanoe Co. Approximately 3 acres is planted with organic produce and they have a greenhouse operation. Over the past 4 yrs. they have planted about 2 acres of hardwood trees and about 8 acres of organic green manure/red clover to help re-build the soil after 40+ yrs. of commercial farming. They offer a CSA and sell any additional produce they may have at the farmers’ markets or to locally owned businesses for re-sale. They also help sustain their farm through the sale of their LongHouse Farm specialty popcorns. Come find them by following your nose to the delicious smell of fresh Kettle Corn hand-crafted in their on-site Kettle Corn popper at the farmers’ markets.

Pastured Beef, Lamb, Pork, Vegetables, Fruits, Flowers, Bird Houses and Benches
This year we are expanding our Carroll Country farm by 75 acres. Beginning the organic certification process this year for our crop land-- we are offering more grass fed poultry, lamb, beef and pork. We are also adding more fruit, brambles, strawberries, asparagus, grapes, flowers, herbs and veggies to our new farm...we continue to grow a wide variety of summer and fall crops at both farms and plan to offer Michigan fruit in the fall. Graham added more poultry facilities this year. We have had our biggest lamb crop ever--14 were born this week alone!...Andrew is anticipating more pork as we anticipate farrowing more in a few weeks. We are offering our products Saturdays at market and from the farm by appointment.
